Corporate culture worldwide has established a significant need of inclusion and diversity at workplace. With changing work environment, it becomes important to witness the role of women in the organization and also to make sure that a women’s dignity should be of the prime importance in the companies rule book and execution. 

In contemporary scenario, it is usual to see women working as top bosses, breaking glass ceilings and working equally as men. Taking note of this we all understand the fact that women are fundamentally different both physically and mentally; the major challenge that they face in any organization is to remain esteemed and dignified as men. 

Women have proved themselves as a strong gender and are now a great contributor to corporate workforce. Still in 2020, there is an immense need to find the relevant ways to make a women friendly workplace a real story in corporate. 

Although many organizations are now setting up relevant reflection on social media, forums and on their websites to present themselves as women friendly organizations but still the execution and deliberate actions are yet to be executed. 

With millennials entering the corporate this agenda of safer workplace for women needs to be accomplished to make a harmonious growth in business. To make sign of women friendly workplace more evident corporate may choose to take the following steps:

  • Considerate Gender Ratio: The corporate should keep in mind to hire good number of women in almost each department of the organization, rather it will be a better opportunity to safeguard women to hire more women workforce for a few relevant departments to create a better sensitivity for both the genders. 
  • Safety of Women Employee: A company should look forward for a better work conditions for women and safeguard them at front by providing a few basic facilities like transport in case of leaving late from offices, installation of cameras in every corner of building, giving hotline numbers to women in offices premises, providing security facilities on every floor.  
  • Increasing Support for Maternity Leaves and Adoptive Mothers: To be a women friendly organization the company should make a flexible leave policy for maternity and adoptive mothers. The company can be considerate on the compensation policy to make situations better for women employee. 
  • Glass Ceiling Policy:  Corporate should give equal opportunities to women to progress in career and should provide relevant support to new mothers by making a relevant policy for them to take work from home and contribute to the team. Women should be given a platform to showcase their abilities and move ahead in the organization, rather than penalized for small mistakes. 
  • Zero Tolerance Policy: Corporates should state a clear and definite zero tolerance policy against women harassment at workplace and should publish it in the employee booklet, internal portals and notice boards of the company. This step will give women employees an assurance that the company is worried about their wellbeing, respect and wants them to work in a safe environment. 

To Summarize

Women employees are equally dignified as men and should be treated equally. The culture of corporate should be made in a way to respect female employees and make them feel secured both physically and mentally in office. 

These five steps in a corporate environment can become a sign of women friendly workplace.
