Have you ever wondered whether or not your goal setting initiatives are making a difference? What about if the efforts have a kingdom-driven type of impact or difference?
Every year as leaders we set out to develop a strategic plan with goals. Or often as HR professionals we set out to train leaders how to set goals using the S.M.A.R.T. methodology. After all, we know that without goals we get lost in the weeds and accomplish nothing.
I found an interesting book 2nd edition that was published in 2020 called, “The Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur’s Guide to Goal Setting,” by Shae Bynes. It's a kingdom approach for setting and pursuing goals to position you for God's bet in business. Many who read this article are corporate executives and leaders. Get the book here!
Personally, I toggle between being both an executive and an entrepreneur. So, I tend to gravitate toward reading both corporate leadership and entrepreneur related books. I realized my goal setting efforts seemed to go slower than a canoe paddling in a sand desert. Looking for inspiration I found this amazing and impactful book.
I recommend this book also for leaders, HR professionals and training professionals. I have no affiliate relationship to the book or author.
In this book you will learn:
- How goal setting is a godly pursuit
- Why the popular S.M.A.R.T. framework for goal setting is inadequate
- The 7 key components to Kingdom-Driven goal setting (and how to apply them)
- Three key steps for pursuing your goals once they have been set
I won’t spill the secrets of the book. It’s a fast read and worth buying, reading, and adding it to your library of resources. If you have a feeling our world has spun out of whack on everything we knew, this is a good place to start re-aligning your professional career and practice with a Kingdom-Driven approach!
