...Is as easy as counting to 10.

From the Note Pad of Nichole McDonald, SPHR

First, you must know why you are having the meeting.  For example, are you selling an idea, solving a problem or introducing an innovation?  You may have Meeting, C-Suite, Value, Effectivenesssecured a 30 minute meeting with a C –Suite leader.   However, the really, really, is that you have only the first 10 minutes to get the attention of a C-Suite leader.

Therefore, you must make every minute count.

Here is how it works;

  • 1- minute, state the reason for the meeting,
  • 2-5 minutes outline the idea, problem or innovation,
  • in 6-9 minutes indicate your recommendations and 1 minute wrap up the conversation, gain commitment or prepare to provide additional information.

If you stay within this time frame you will have a recurring role in the C-Suite!  I will see you there.

  1. I love an article that models its key message! I used to ask my employees to resist telling me everything you know on a particular subject. Rather, tell me just what I need to know in order to make a informed decision.
