According to a recent Gallup report, “after trending up in recent years, employee engagement in the U.S. saw its first annual decline in a decade – dropping from 36% engaged employees in 2020 to 34% IN 2021%” The report further indicated the declined began in the 2021 and continued through 2022.

The key elements that declined the most is

  • clarity of expectations,
  • connection to the mission or purpose of the company,
  • opportunities to learn and grow,
  • opportunities to do what employees do best and feeling cared about at work.

Remote work reality has been prevalent and will be around for a while. Considering these employee engagement statistics, perhaps it’s time to connecting with the disconnected.
