Planning team building activities aren’t always the easiest thing in the world. Whilst you are going to want to make sure that it is fun and worthwhile doing, you cannot please everyone. However, you can take some steps towards it being suitable for everyone.

So, how do you do this? How can you find a team building activity that people of all abilities will enjoy?

Cooking classes

No matter who you are, or what you do, there is a good chance that you will want to learn how to cook better. With this in mind, cooking team building activities are a great idea. They are not only going to help with a valuable life skill, but it is also great fun too. You can also challenge members of your team to work together as best that they can, which will improve teamwork and ensure that they can communicate and co-operate well together.

Scavenger hunt

A scavenger hunt is a wonderful team building activity that is something that everyone can get their teeth into. This works particularly well if you are based in, or close to a big city. As this is the ideal location for taking part in a hunt. Not only is a scavenger hunt a great way to encourage people to work together to possibly win, but it is also fun too, and if it is outside, then your employees will feel the benefit of getting some fresh air.

Board game tournament

Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned board game? Not many people that is for sure. If you are planning a team building activity during less than favorable weather, then this might be the ideal choice as it is perfect for indoors. Board games are not only a great way to get the brain active, but they are also going to help with team bonding and maybe even unleashing a competitive side in some of your staff too. Let’s hope that it doesn’t end up causing too much of a fallout though.

Volunteer

There is no greater feeling than knowing that you have helped someone who really needs it. Volunteering is a great way to do this, and it works really well as a team building activity and exercise. There are a real wealth of different team building activities that you can do, especially within your local community. This includes taking on gardening duties, revamping a tired looking public space or perhaps even delivering gifts to a hospital. The great thing about volunteering is that it is something that everyone can do, everyone will have a skill that they can bring to the table.

Escape rooms

Escape rooms are really rising in popularity at the moment, and with good reason. Not only are they a fantastic activity for family and friends to take on together, but they are also a challenge that works really well for a team building activity too. Escape rooms require you to work together as a team, understanding more about each other's strengths and what parts of the puzzles one particular person is going to be able to do a part of the puzzle better than others.

A day out as tourists

Who says that a team building activity has to be a challenge or game? Sometimes it can simply be a chance to spend some time getting to know and understand one another better, building on one of the most important business skills out there, communication. One idea for a team building activity is to arrange for a day out, exploring a new place as tourists, you could, if you wanted to, set some mini-challenges along the way, but it really does depend on your team and what is going to work best for them.

When you are planning and organizing a team bonding activity, you are going to want to make sure that you include as many people on the team as possible. By doing this you are definitely going to make sure that everyone feels that they are a part of the team and you can encourage everyone to work together, both in the activity and outside of it in everyday work too.
