The Challenge
A high-impact nonprofit operating nationwide was struggling under the weight of outdated processes. Across finance, HR, and operations, critical tasks that should take minutes were instead dragging on for days due to redundant systems, disconnected tools, and heavy manual intervention.
The organization was mission-driven, but its systems weren’t mission-ready. They needed more than a tech upgrade. They needed an integrated, leadership-aligned transformation.
The Approach
I led the implementation of NetSuite ERP, a system-wide change designed to eliminate inefficiencies and restore agility. This wasn’t just about installing new software it was about building a smarter, cross-functional operation that empowered people at every level.
Key actions included:
- Conducting discovery sessions with cross-functional teams to document pain points and priorities
- Leading a change management initiative to build trust and buy-in across departments
- Designing a phased rollout plan that aligned with both fiscal calendar and operational windows
- Facilitating executive partnerships to ensure that every system change aligned with strategic goals
- Overseeing organization-wide training tailored to functional needs and tech comfort levels
The Outcome
In less than a year, the nonprofit shifted from fragmentation to flow:
- Processes that once took days now take minutes
- Teams could track and report on real-time data across departments
- Finance and HR were better aligned on workforce planning, grants management, and reporting
- Staff experienced less burnout thanks to improved systems and reduced duplication
Most importantly, leaders could now focus less on process firefighting—and more on mission advancement.
